Trace Adkins Is Teaming Up With 'American Pickers' Star For New Project
Trace Adkins is teaming up with an American Pickers star, for an exciting new project. Mike Wolfe, who created and stars in American Pickers, is going to be part of a new Western film, The Day of Reckoning, which also stars Adkins.
Wolfe announced the exciting news on social media.
“So excited that I got to have a part in The Day of Reckoning movie that will be released exclusively in theaters nationwide on March 28th!” Wolfe writes. He also reveals that in addition to Adkins, the film also stars Billy Zane, Zach Roerig, Scott Adkins, Yela Wolf and more.
“A reckoning built on bullets,” he adds. “A story too intense for your living room. Witness it in theaters only.”
Adkins is no stranger to being in front of a camera. The 63-year-old has had plenty of acting projects over the years, including films like An American Carol, Wyatt Earp’s Revenge, Moms’ Night Out, I Can Only Imagine, Desperate Riders and more.
“It’s just something else that I enjoy doing,” Adkins tells Outsider Country Music. “I really do. I get a kick out of it … First of all, it’s a challenge because you’re getting out of your comfort zone and going into an area, I always tell people, quietly. The best acting job I do is not letting the director know that I don’t know what I’m doing. That’s a challenge, to try and perform well enough that they don’t know that you don’t know what you’re doing. But I love it.”
Adkins’ daughter Mackenzie, not surprisingly, had aspirations to follow in her famous father’s footsteps. She appeared in the reality show, Claim to Fame, but not without first receiving words of advice from her dad.
“They tell you, ‘Oh, yeah, we’re going to do this,” Adkins tells Fox News. “‘We’re going to do that, and it’s this is moving along.’ And then all of a sudden, one day you realize, well, I haven’t heard from those people in six months. And it just went away.”
Although he has had plenty of acting jobs, it’s still a lesson that Adkins has learned the hard way.
“I’ve had so many things, and most of which I’ve forgotten about,” he reveals. “But there have been so many, so many things in my career that were connected to Hollywood. And they never happened.”
