Once again, we head over to the mysterious treasure hunting spot known as Oak Island. For more than two centuries now, the world has watched as hundreds, if not thousands, of hopeful treasure hunters have taken on this mysterious challenge.

It should come as no surprise to those who stumble upon this fascinating place when they notice that some people are searching through what they believe to be the legendary Money Pit or other interesting spots on the island.

With that in mind, we are all left to wonder what the Lagina brothers and their crew would uncover as their search for the legendary treasure of Oak Island continues. Will they discover this fabled treasure, or find something more precious?

Aladdin’s Cave: The Water Problem

The Lagina brothers and their team were on the verge of making groundbreaking discoveries at one of the most interesting parts of the island known as Aladdin’s Cave.

They faced a significant challenge: tackling a flooding problem in the so-called Money Pit area. When we say flooding problem, we mean that they had to deal with water seeping through the walls of their tunnels.

To solve this, the team needed to determine where the water was coming from. This task was complicated by heavy rainfall in Nova Scotia, which proved to be a hindrance.

Fortunately, they figured out there was a catalyst causing the endless water flow into the garden shaft, located about 66 ft deep. They realized that the water in the tunnel was only about 10 ft high, not the expected 30 ft.

This led them to question whether it was a flood or something else, but the annoying water was stopping them from continuing their search for the rumored treasure.

The water problem was significant enough to prevent them from extending the depth of the garden shaft from 87 ft to 100 ft. They hoped to breach through a 7 ft high tunnel leading westward towards the “baby blob.”

To address the flooding, they consulted with representatives from Duma Contracting Limited. These representatives drilled holes to fill the mysterious voids outside the shaft. They decided to fill these voids with polyurethane, an expanding compound that might seal the openings allowing water to seep in.

Executing this plan proved easier said than done, as the shaft dealt with about 700 gallons of water every hour. Despite this, the team refused to be deterred; they believed if everything was dry and solid, they could resume digging.

Discoveries and Insights

As the team worked, Peter, another treasure hunter, discovered a strange circular structure near the shoreline in lot five. This structure quickly became a central focus for the team, eager to push forward with their investigations despite recent storms that may have compromised its condition.

The team lifted the cover protecting the circular structure, leading to a significant moment. Even though it was about a mile away from the Money Pit, it offered clues that could help solve some of the island’s mysteries.

One intriguing find was a handle-like item connected to Sir William Phips, a 17th-century politician and privateer rumored to have buried treasure within the Money Pit back in 1687.

Additionally, they found a lead barter token, which could be linked to a 14th-century lead cross discovered at Smith’s Cove in 2017. This hinted at a fascinating interconnected history.

Continued Exploration

Despite storms, the team carried on using magnetometry, leading to the discovery of structures potentially older than those found recently. They were inspired to conduct further investigations to unveil more of the island’s secrets.

The archaeologists believed the circular feature they were analyzing could be crucial in solving the island’s hidden mysteries.

They prepared for a new exploration expedition, eager to see what they might find in Aladdin’s Cave and other areas. They utilized sonar scans to understand the cavern’s structure better, which had intrigued them since a drilling operation revealed a large space beneath them.
