Danielle Colby of American Pickers has built a notable career off the television series, building up an impressive net worth.
Series creator Mike Wolfe, who is close with Colby, deliberately chose her to challenge antiquing stereotypes.
“I wanted someone that did not look like they would work in any antique shop,” Wolfe, who recently dropped some”epic” career news, said.
“I wanted people to look at antiques like they’re fun, they’re rad, they’re killer, they’re awesome. I wanted people to know that they didn’t have to have a blue blazer and 10 cats to be an antique dealer.”
Wolfe cited Colby’s edge and distinctive look as key factors in his decision to bring her aboard.
“I saw what she was capable of, and she’s got the edge, she’s got the look,” he said.
Industry sources report Colby earns approximately $15,000 per episode.
“My heart is humbled and grateful that you all still tune in to see America and its great people through our lens,” Wolfe wrote on Instagram.
Prior to television, Colby established herself as a burlesque performer under the stage name Dannie Diesel.
