Danielle Colby Makes Sense As the New 'American Pickers' Host
Beyond her instincts to unearth hidden gems, Colby is also a natural-born leader, which makes her an ideal fit for the host role on American Pickers. Considered to be the heart and soul of the team, Colby kept command of Antique Archaeology when the Wolfe and Fritz were out on the hunt. She also has a keen sense of what could be valuable and doesn’t hesitate to share her opinion.
Colby has been with the show since the beginning, becoming a skilled hunter under Fritz and Wolfe. She started as the office manager and became a picker – and now goes out on the hunt alone.
She could essentially carry on the tone of the series, but add her flair. She’s also an obvious choice because many fans love continuity, so while the series could reboot with her at the helm, longtime viewers would already be familiar with her and perhaps more open to diving into a new season.
She could also bring back other pickers such as Wolfe’s brother Robbie Wolfe and vintage motorcycle enthusiast Jon ‘Jersey Jon’ Szalay.
With American Pickers on hiatus and Wolfe selling the Nashville store, it seems like there is a strong possibility that Colby could be a great new host to take over American Pickers.
But first, production needs to explore the possibility of bringing the show back, with Colby leading the way.
