BAD PICKINGS American Pickers’ Mike Wolfe sparks concern as merch website abruptly shuts down after show ratings plummet
AMERICAN Pickers star Mike Wolfe has sparked concern as his merchandise website shut down while his show continues to struggle.
A section of Mike’s Antique Archeology site was hit with a disclaimer.
American Pickers host Mike Wolfe is also the owner of Antique Archaeology
The store recently promoted the sale of the ‘Picker Nation Tee’ shirt, and teased buyers to ‘get this limited mineral wash tee while supplies last’
When users click on the Sale section under the Shop category, were greeted with a “Page not found” message.
“The page you were looking for doesn’t exist. You may have mistyped the address or the page may have moved,” the page stated.
The site disruption came as the store’s Instagram account teased new apparel for interested buyers.
Over the weekend, the page promoted the “Picker Nation Tee” shirt in a short Reel.
“Old flake eagle, flag, and the essence of the hunt. Join the pickin’ crew and get this limited mineral wash tee while supplies last! SHOP NOW,” the caption read.
The 59-year-old star owns Antique Archaeology, which holds store locations in Nashville, Tennessee, and Le Claire, Iowa.
Mike’s website crash came as his American Pickers series has been struggling to find consistent numbers in the ratings.
The History Channel star returned to his program with his brother Robbie Wolfe, 62, co-star Danielle Colby, 47 – now married to her husband, Jeremy Scheuch – and Jersey Jon Szalay for their Season 25 premiere in December 2023.
During the month of February, the ratings struggled to find consistent viewership as the numbers took a topsy-turvy turn.
In late February, The U.S. Sun reported that the episode, Tough As Nails – which aired February 21st – brought in about 913,000 viewers.
This is the second highest-rated episode of Season 25, as the series has struggled in the ratings.
On Valentine’s Day, the installment, Roadside Relics, brought in low numbers with 774,000 viewers.
The episode featured Mike uncovering vintage movie posters while Robbie and Jersey Jon found rare Chevy signs.
The ratings dropped from the twelfth episode, The Eyes Have It, which aired on February 7, with 835,000 viewers tuning in.
The first half of Season 25 kicked off on December 27 with two episodes.
Classic Car Cemetery had just 723,000 viewers, while the second episode of the premiere, Hidden Cash Stash, dropped down to 676,000.
MONEY SPENT
Mike’s show problems came after he dropped about $300,000 on an Iowa mansion built in 1880.
Near the end of February, The U.S. Sun exclusively revealed details on the vacation rental, which will be available for rent soon.
Mike paid thousands for the 2,142-square-foot, two-story home in his hometown of Le Claire, Iowa in December 2021.
According to property records, the home boasts three bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Mike has been updating fans on the renovations for the second location of Two Lanes Guesthouse.
The TV personality owns Two Lanes Guesthouse, which holds another location in Columbia, Tennessee.
