American Pickers has taken a hit in viewer numbers as disgruntled fans are voicing their dissatisfaction with the show’s promotion of “overpriced” collectibles.

The popular History Channel show has also been accused by viewers of promoting “fake” items. Unfortunately for the once-beloved series, ratings have now taken a nosedive as the December 4 episode attracted a mere 584,000 viewers.

This is down from the previous week’s spike at 623,000 views and far below season 25’s average audience of 837,500. Fans certainly aren’t holding back their critiques of the latest episodes.

One person wrote on social media, “This show is faker than Oak Island!” Another blasted, “I’ve loved Pickers since the very beginning but it seems so set up and contrived now. I expect a lot of it was set up going back to the Frank days but it seems obvious stuff is set up for them to ‘find’ and Jersey always having to give a retail number (guess) is painful to watch, put it to bed guys you’ve made your money.”

Calls for the show’s cancelation also circulated online, indicating that all might soon be over for American Pickers. “This show needs to go…cancel this show it’s a husk of what it was,” one viewer exclaimed.

Another added, “It was never good,” while a third lamented, “This show ruined the buying/selling market.” American Pickers has had some disappointing viewership figures in recent months.

The November 27 episode brought in just 521,000 viewers. Meanwhile, the November 6 episode had 547,000 viewers.

One episode titled DIY Delorean brought in the lowest figures of the season, with just 442,000 viewers. The second episode of the season, Wolfemen vs. The Automations, also struggled and brought in a mere 463,000 viewers.

In contrast, the premiere episode of last season brought in a whopping 723,000 viewers, with 676,000 tuning in for part two. Episode three had 880,000 viewers.
