‘American Pickers’ star addresses report that she is dead

Spend some time on social media, and you might see posts claiming ‘American Pickers’ star Danielle Colby has died.
One such post from an account with a verified account with a blue check mark, begins with “HUGE TRAGEDY” before going on to say that “with heavy heart, we announce the passing. RIP (Danielle Colby).”
Just one problem with all of that: Colby isn’t dead.
How do we know?
Because she reposted that post on Elon Musk’s X platform and wrote, “I’m pretty sure I’m not (expletive) dead.”
Great news for “Pickers” fans. Even better news for Colby. Also, just another example of the rampant misinformation that flows freely on X.
“Have you heard the good news??” one person responded. “She has Risen.”
“Danielle! Holy crap, I bout freaked out and was about to call Tara!” Nathan Belt responded. “Very happy to hear that you’re OK. Miss you and sending all my love.”
“Please stop spreading disinformation,” someone responded. “We all saw it on X. You are dead…… please respect it and move on.”
Eventually, a community note that read, “Danielle Coby has confirmed she is not dead,” was added to the post.
