American Pickers’ Mike Wolfe fails to open Iowa vacation rental four years after buying

A source told The U.S. Sun, “Mike was still working on the guesthouse in October. He was bringing antiques, decor and furniture to and from the home. He was also speaking with workers regarding the exterior of the building.”

Whilst the business might not be ready yet, it’s still a work in progress with Wolfe filing a permit on September 26, 2024 to hang up an antique sign on the home that reads ‘Two Lanes Guesthouse’. No other permits have been submitted for the home, so it still remains unclear when it will eventually open up for business.

Despite not being ready, Wolfe has launched Two Lanes Guesthouse with a social media page and so far gathered a significant following on Instagram. The page initially teased fans that it would be open in October 2024, with a post that read: “Coming this October. Two Lanes Guest House LeClaire will be ready just in time to watch the beautiful fall colors change across the Mississippi River! All are hand-crafted and curated by @mikewolfeamericanpicker. Keep an eye out for updates!”

A further update kept fans in the know as it posted: “@mikewolfeamericanpicker is hard at work carefully staging and crafting the @ontwolanes Guest House LeClaire for YOU! Stay tuned for booking announcements later this fall.”

However the page is still listed as “coming soon”, with one of the most recent photos showing some rooms are finished. One post of tthe dining room featured decor including an antique wood table with bar stools, a vintage red rug, colorful artwork and a sign that reads ‘tourists’.

The two-story building was built in 1880, and features three bedrooms, a basement, a fireplace and more amenities. Wolfe is thought to be wanting to replicate what he’s done at similar properties, turning them into lucrative rentals.
