American Pickers may not deliver table-flipping drama or scandalous affairs, but it’s quietly been one of reality TV’s most consistent gems. Since 2010, the show has built a loyal audience by uncovering hidden pieces of Americana and giving forgotten relics a second chance at life.

But major shifts are taking the series in a different direction. A big part of American Pickers was the friendship between longtime host Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz. But Fritz left the series and later died. Although Wolfe carried on Fritz’s legacy, the recent changes make it seem like Wolfe may be leaving American Pickers, especially with the news that he closed his Antique Archaeology store in Nashville, plus production has paused for the first time in 15 years.

It’s time for a new era, and there’s only one person who can lead the charge: Danielle Colby. From her encyclopedic knowledge of vintage finds to her undeniable charisma, Colby has been the show’s underrated backbone for years. With the recent shifts, she’s not just the best option—she’s the obvious one.

Colby has always stood out on American Pickers and is a fan favorite because she grabs attention with striking tattoos and ever-changing hairstyles, not to mention that she is the only woman on the show as a lead.

When Colby is not on American Pickers, she has her own treasure-seeking endeavors. After falling in love with burlesque and having a burlesque show, Colby merged her love of vintage hunting and burlesque by opening an “ecdysiast” museum, which means the museum will showcase all things burlesque and nude artistry.

Beyond her unique style and individual entrepreneurial projects, Colby spends her free time doing humanitarian work and advocating for the rights of others, according to the History Channel website. Danielle Colby has always had an individualistic soul, which lends itself to the spirit of the series.
