'American Pickers' Star Mike Wolfe Sends Message to Dolly Parton
American Pickers star Mike Wolfe has shared a heartfelt message to Dolly Parton on Instagram.
Newsweek emailed a spokesperson for Wolfe for comment on Friday.
Wolfe shared a photo of the country singer standing alongside his American Pickers co-star Danielle Colby and TV personality Lauren Wray.
“Happy Birthday Dolly We love you! Honored to have had you on the show a few years back. Hopefully in 2025 paths will cross again,” he captioned the photo, which he posted on January 19, Parton’s 79th birthday.
Both Colby and Wray commented on the post, with Colby writing: “love these humans.” Wray added: “One of the best days ever!” Wray joined American Pickers in 2011 but was only featured in a few dozen episodes.
The snap was taken when Parton made an appearance on the reality television series, with the episode airing on the History Channel on May 7, 2014.
Parton is a successful singer, actor and philanthropist who also co-owns Dollywood. She came to American Pickers for assistance in decorating a new ride for the theme park in Tennessee.
The pickers were tasked with helping complete the look of Dollywood’s FireChaser Express. By the conclusion of their two-week deadline, the pickers found vintage gas station signs, gasoline pumps, a pole-mounted sign and fire extinguishers.
According to the Dolly Parton website, “Dolly requested History’s American Pickers to outfit the newest attraction at Dollywood, FireChaser Express, with vintage firefighter-themed items. American Pickers Danielle Colby delivered the antiques collected from across the country to Dolly as she prepared to open the ride to the public.”
Wolfe is no stranger to sharing life updates and thoughts with his Instagram followers. As 2024 came to a close, he reflected on the year, including his losses and milestones.
Wolfe began the caption of his post by explaining that despite the death and sadness he experienced this year, he is optimistic about the future. In September, his former American Pickers co-host and best friend Frank Fritz died from a stroke at the age of 60.
“I chose this photo to post because this is where I’m at right now in my life, happy, content and excited about the future,” Wolfe wrote. “This past year has brought loss and some heart ache but it also has beautiful moments with my daughter and family. The projects that I have thrown myself into have inspired me to do more.”
The reality TV star also noted that hitting 60 has changed his perspective on life and he thanked fans for their immense support.
“Turning 60 this year has centered me and brought me to a place in my mind that I feel at peace and I love that my circle is getting much smaller so I can be present more with the ones I love,” he continued.
“I’m incredibly blessed for all of your support. For 15 years now we have been able to tell stories and focus on the history, people, and places that continue to bring us all together. I fall in love with America over and over again when I travel. There is no such thing as a nobody or a place that is nowhere. Now more the [sic] ever let’s seek and find common ground. 2025 We got this!!!”
