American Pickers' Mike Wolfe sees ratings plummet after show makes major move
American Pickers star Mike Wolfe recently purchased a number of suits from legendary country singer Hank Williams Jr.’s collection, but the show saw a decrease in ratings
Despite a significant acquisition by the show’s star, Mike Wolfe, the first episode of American Pickers’ 26th season, which aired on January 1st, experienced a drop in ratings. In the episode titled ‘Junkyard Jamboree’, Wolfe splashed out thousands on suits from the collection of renowned country singer Hank Williams Jr., all designed by the legendary Nudie Cohn.
Despite receiving a wave of positive comments on Instagram, the viewership didn’t see an increase, with only 595,000 tuning in, as reported by the U.S. Sun.
This figure represents a further decline from the December 11th episode, albeit slightly higher than the December 4th episode, which attracted 584,000 viewers. The November 27th episode saw a spike in ratings with 623,000 viewers, but the show has struggled to surpass 600,000 in recent weeks.
The viewership for American Pickers has seen a noticeable decrease, with the November 20, 2024 episode drawing in 521,000 viewers, while the November 13 and November 6 episodes pulled in 582,000 and 547,000 viewers respectively. The show’s October ratings also stumbled; the October 30 episode marked the season’s low point with just 424,000 viewers.
The previous weeks saw marginally higher numbers, with 566,000 tuning in on October 23, and 463,000 on October 16. The Season 26 premiere on October 9 drew 565,000 viewers.
The numbers show a stark decline from Season 25, where one of the highest-rated episodes pulled in 966,000 viewers. As the viewership continues to plummet, fans have not held back their criticism, with some demanding the show’s cancellation.
Viewers have expressed their discontent, saying: “This show needs to go… cancel this show it’s a husk of what it was,” and “It was never good. This show ruined the buying/selling market.”
The future of the show is now under scrutiny, with many questioning: “Will American Pickers continue? “.
