WOLFE'S WHIP American Pickers’ Mike Wolfe quietly tours his vintage motorcycle across Tennessee in cryptic update amid low ratings
MIKE Wolfe has taken a moment to himself, driving his vintage chopper around Tennessee on Instagram in a somber upload.
This comes after American Pickers has seen woefully low ratings even with a new lineup but without fan-favorite Frank Fritz.
Mike, 59, shared multiple silent Instagram Stories on Sunday in which he just drove around his motorcycle.
In one video, he filmed himself zooming across a road without any message or a caption.
The following photos show him touting his cool ride at various Tennessee rest stops, including two general stores near his own antique store.
Mike did not elaborate further, and it seemed like he was taking a much-needed joy ride amid his show being a bumpy ride in itself.
RUNNING OUT OF FUEL?
American Pickers has been struggling as its ratings have significantly dropped for Season 25.
Although the show’s episode on March 6 reached nearly one million viewers, that viewership didn’t last long.
It was exclusively revealed by The U.S. Sun that the next episode on March 13 only brought in 785,000 views.
Still, that’s up from the two-part premiere that only attracted 723,000 viewers for part one and 676,000 for part two.
The reality show had never dropped below 1 million viewers before 2022.
Despite the low ratings, Mike recently added an expensive new antique to his Iowa store Antique Archaeology.
The store plays a large role in the television show as it’s where he sells many of the antiques he purchases on the road.
On April 10, Mike revealed a $7,500 vintage neon beer sign from Blatz Beer was for sale at the shop.
Valentin Blatz Brewing Company produced Blatz Beer from 1851 to 1959.
Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based brewery was acquired by Pabst Brewing Company, who also make Pabst Blue Ribbon, in 1959.
Now, it’s produced by the Miller Brewing Company.
NO MORE!
Recent seasons of the fan-favorite show have brought some casting shakeups since the beloved host Frank Fritz left the show in 2021.
Mike, 60, now stars on American Pickers with his brother Robbie, Danielle Colby and new full-time cast member Jon “Jersey Jon” Szalay.
Despite the recent changes, fans have been slamming Season 25 as “boring.”
On March 6, one fan posted about the episode and commented, “Boring as always… so boring… same crap, different episode.”
Another disappointed fan shared, “Robbie talks like he has a say… he should be cutting back lawns.”
Yet a third viewer slammed, “[Laughing my a** off] I agree 100% with you, the guy is freaking boring.”
Many other fans said the show is lacking a good foil for Mike without Frank and hasn’t recovered.
