American Pickers star Mike Wolfe shared a photo of him and his co-star Danielle Colby with a heartwarming caption wishing her a happy birthday on Instagram amidst rumors of her departure from the show.
Fans have been reeling over her “cryptic” Instagram posts, speculating that she is leaving the show, which is currently in its 26th season, especially because she has been focusing more on her career as a podcaster and burlesque performer after facing some health scares in the last couple of years.
After co-star Frank Fritz’s departure from the show and subsequent death, fans are afraid that the show cannot survive without the “Queen of Rust.”
American Pickers is a hit reality show that has been airing on the History Channel since 2010. The hosts travel across the country collecting rare Americana artifacts and treasures that they buy to either keep for their personal collections, or resell in their antique shops, such as Mike’s shop called Antique Archaeology.
The adorable Instagram post features a picture of the two together with the caption: “Happy Birthday You Rascal I love you so much. Here’s to many more miles together” with the hashtags #foreveryoung and #Friendsforlife.
The 49-year-old started off as the business’ office manager, but eventually joined Mike and Frank on their hunts. She and Mike had been friends for over a decade before the show premiered.
Though she has dealt with some health issues in the last few years, including a uterine fibroid growth diagnosis and a tumor on her face, last summer she was the target of an online hoax that claimed she had died. The star responded with a sense of humor, quoting Mark Twain: “The report of my death was an exaggeration.”
Besides online fan speculation and the notion that the show has run its course, it seems that not only is her and Mike’s friendship still going strong, but there is no indication that she will be leaving the show any time soon.
