Heartbreaking Twist! American Pickers star Drops Mike Wolfes Very Shocking To! It Will Shock You!!
American Pickers fans are upset with Mike Wolfe after they perceived his recent social media post as a careless and callous jab at his former co-host, Frank Fritz. Fans claim Wolfe is “kicking Frank while he’s down” after Fritz’s stroke.
The controversy began after Mike, 58, tweeted a promotion for a new episode of American Pickers. In the tweet, Wolfe smiled while holding up an old whiskey jug, captioning it, “Team at Antiquesology here. All new episode of American Pickers drops tomorrow night 9/8c Central on @History.”
While the post provided a preview of an antique negotiation with Wes Body and Austin Pike, fans were more focused on Mike’s appearance. Particularly, they pointed out his full beard and mustache, which they felt resembled Frank’s signature look. One follower wrote, “The bearded look should be saved for Frank, Mike. Please get rid of the beard,” expressing concern that Mike’s look was insensitive in light of Frank’s health struggles.
The backlash against Wolfe comes as fans continue to express their desire for Fritz to return to the show. “Bring Frank back when he heals,” one fan tweeted, while another added, “The show has not been the same since he left. Get well soon, Frank.”
Fritz, 58, suffered a stroke on July 14 and was hospitalized after being found by a friend at his Iowa home. His absence has had a significant impact on the show’s viewership. Since the July 9th premiere of American Pickers, ratings have dropped significantly. The premiere garnered just 833,000 viewers, a sharp decline compared to the 1.15 million viewers for the season 23 debut in January 2022.
Fritz had taken time off from the show previously in March 2020 to recover from back surgery, but his official firing in July 2021 was a blow to fans. Despite their feud, Mike was the one to share news of Frank’s stroke on social media, writing, “Please keep him in your hearts and thoughts. Frank has suffered a stroke and is in the hospital. I pray more than anything that you make it through this okay. I love you buddy.”
The fallout has been harsh, with many fans accusing Mike of turning to nepotism by replacing Frank with his brother, Robbie, as co-host. One viewer tweeted, “No one is really interested in your show anymore. You turned your back on a childhood friend, then tried to show sympathy when he fell ill. Shame on you.”
Ratings have continued to decline since Robbie’s introduction, with some viewers questioning his role on the show. “Fire your brother for God’s sake. He sucks the life out of the show,” one viewer slammed.
Despite the controversy, American Pickers continues to air, though its future success remains uncertain as fans demand answers.
