MINUTES AGO! American Pickers Mike Wolfe Drops Breaking News To Frank Fritz’s! Tragic News
Mike Wolf, who plays the lead role on American Pickers, has announced that the show will be renewed for a 27th season despite the recent decline in viewership. The long-running series made its debut on the History Channel for the very first time in 2010.
Despite the fact that the debut of season 26 occurred only a month ago, Mike has revealed that American Pickers will again be returning for another installment. This comes as a result of the show’s ratings falling to their lowest point throughout the entirety of season 26.
The following is a post that Mike made on Instagram:
“Morning porch vibes from the wonderful state of Tennessee. Enjoying some much-needed downtime before we start shooting a new season of American Pickers. The year 2004 was the beginning of my journey with a camera, during which I began shooting Frank and my travels in two lanes. Now, almost 500 episodes in, my heart is humbled and grateful that you all still tune in to see America and its great people through our lens.”
He continued by saying:
“Just like your family, the family that we have created has been through a lot together over the years. At our meal, there is both beauty and a touch of melancholy. The sharing of history and the ways in which it binds us all together continues to be our primary focus.”
While Frank Fritz, the show’s former longtime co-host, passed away in September at the age of just 60, this news comes as a shock. At the time of his most recent appearance on the show, which was in March of 2020, Frank had suffered a stroke in 2022.
“It is with a broken heart that I share with all of you that Frank passed away last night,” Mike wrote in a lengthy eulogy that he took the time to write. “It has been more than half of my life that I have known Frank, and what you have seen on television is exactly what I have seen him to be: a dreamer who was just as sensitive as he was witty. The same off-camera as he was on. Frank had a way of reaching the hearts of so many by just being himself.”
“It is with a heavy heart that I relay the news that my buddy Frank Fritz passed away last night,” Mike continued. As shared by Robbie Wolf, who took over for Frank on American Pickers, his television appearances were familiar to all of you. However, I was familiar with him for my travels, fishing, and family. It was he who served as the godfather to my twin daughters. Without a doubt, his infectious grin and infectious laughter will be sorely missed.”
“The majority of the time it was just time spent sitting on a fishing boat and talking about life. As far as I am aware, you are in a better place. Love you, buddy. Hope you catch the big one. Until we see each other in heaven, hold the boat steady.”
